It’s not everyday you get the chance to witness some of the world’s leading ice sculptors creating a replica of the Forth Bridge entirely from ice, but then this is no ordinary event. It takes place on the rooftop of one of the city’s most popular shopping centre’s, and if you are a fan of unusual art events, the Forth Bridge ice sculpture at Princes Mall is unmissable.

Five Alive
At the same time as the Forth Bridge Ice Sculpture at Princes Mall event, the same thing will be going on in four other cities. Sculptors in Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool and London will be picking up their ice carving tools to create sculptures of iconic buildings that range from Big Ben and The Tower Bridge in London to Urbis in Manchester and Glasgow’s Armadillo.

World Class
The sculptors’ charged with creating the Forth Bridge ice sculpture at Princes Mall may seem like they’ve got a daunting task. Luckily they’re some of the leaders in their field and their recent work has seen them create an ice room for Justin Timberlake, and a chess set made entirely of ice that allowed party goers to move the pieces around.

Vodka Revolution
If you are get a chance to head down to the Forth Bridge ice sculpture at Princes Mall event, you will see an 8 metre tall glistening version of the bridge. The whole event is hosted by Smirnoff and is designed to promote their two new flavoured vodkas: green apple and lime. The sculpture will be on display all day and it will remain there until it succumbs to the elements and melts.

The Forth Bridge ice sculpture at Great Northern event takes place Friday 11th September 2009. The scuplture will be complete and ready to view by 12pm.
